What is SIMSOC ONLINE?

SIMSOC Online provides simulation-based training services in the field of social sciences and leadership training.

Based off of the transformative societal simulation begun by Dr. William Gamson during the tumultuous years of the 1960s, SIMSOC Online translates the experience into a medium that is more recognizable, accessible and impactful for the modern audience.  Just as the paper-based SIMSOC was developed to create an experiential framework for societal division, strife and distrust generated by resource scarcity within a cold, rigidly bureaucratic environment, SIMSOC Online retains the brilliantly designed structure of the overall simulation while translating the "world" into one more reflective of the post-pandemic digitally-intertwined and truth-skeptical anomie of the present.  

SIMSOC Online takes advantage of video chat advancements & digital engagement normalization to create a proximity-based immersive virtual playground to interact organically with other players, collaborate on challenges, trade finite resources, and make tough decisions for the personal & collective good.  In just a few hours, a group of 25-50 participants will undergo a rich experience that is as much an icebreaker as an intellectual exploration, as much a team retreat as a sociological adventure, and as impactful as it is unforgettable.
